Balance Classes

 

Warm up- balance/falls prevention/Parkinsons

This warm up is best performed prior to the other exercises in our balance series. Please chose a set up based on your balance level. That is if you need to have a wall or chair nearby, use the tools that will keep you safe. If you have severe balance issues, this exercise should not be performed without your health practitioner nearby.

 
 

Stop and squat- Balance

This balance/Parkinsons exercise requires a chair. It can also be performed off the edge of your bed. If you have severe balance issues, this exercise should not be performed without your health practitioner nearby.

 

Seated sky reach

This exercise is another part of our balance series. It specifically targets seated balance and Parkinson Disease. The movements should be explosive and fingers should stretch out to get as much space as you can between fingers on the reach.

 

Banded side step

This exercise is for curated to assist balance, falls prevention and Parkisons disease.

 

Tandem Walk

This balance exercise is best performed beside a wall so you can hold on if needed. If you have severe balance issues, do not perform this exercise without your health professional.

 

Single leg balance

Ensure you have a chair nearby or perform in a wall corner in case you lose your balance. If you have severe balance issues, do not perform this exercise without your health professional.

 

Sideways waddle

This is a balance and hip strengthening exercise. If you have severe balance issues, do not perform this without your health professional present.

 

Power Lunge

Great for falls prevention and those with Parkinson's Disease. Split stance with upper body rotation challenges the balance! Be sure to have a wall to one side of you and rotate towards that side.
